PostSubject: MCL XVI - A Look Into The Sliders   Tue Sep 02, 2014 2:24 pm

For the curious here’s a look into the thought process behind the sliders….

Pre-game Sliders-

All-Maden is the base.

Game Speed-Normal

Fatigue-58 [+8]

Injuries-60 [+10]

Speed Threshold-50 (Default)

FG Power-50 (Default)

FG Accuracy-65 (To help account for the whiff bug)

Passing Offense-(147 out of 150)

QB Acc-50: No change as default provides a variety of inaccurate passes.

Pass Blocking-50:You better pay attention to who you have on your line, and their pass blocking skill sets. If you don't, your QB will find himself on his back if you hold onto the ball too long. I'd suggest keeping in 6 or 7 with a weaker line if you're pushing the ball vertically vs a good DL group. (Shorter 'Patty Cake' animations for Offensive Lineman, NFL avg time in pocket 3-4 secs, that’s what we’re looking to mirror)

WR Catching-47: At this setting WR's with mid 70's are far less likely to make a catch while getting hit, or in crowded spaces. While the better WR's stand-out in this area, putting real emphasis on catch, as well as catch in traffic. Also helps to mediate overuse of aggressive catches, while still allowing elite WR's to showcase their ability.

Run Offense-(100 out of 100)

Run Blocking-50: No change.

Fumbles-50: No change.

Total Offense-(247 out of 250)

Pass Defense-(175 out of 150)

Reaction Time-60: This has been great with the Read and React System they've implemented. We're not seeing an increase in route mirroring in man, or psychic defenders in zone who may have been cleared out by a route. What we are seeing is positive reactions to passes when in zone and man, while there are still some dead spots, this has been my biggest surprise.

Interceptions-75: This will cause those 'Gunslinger Mentality' users to think twice before carelessly testing double/triple coverage. Combined with the new 'Ball Hawk' defensive ability you just can't throw at defenders. While there are still drops, you're far more likely to succeed with players in position to make a play.

Pass Coverage-40: This was lowered to assist in limiting the route mirroring while facing man defense, and to also account for progression over time.

Run Defense-(100 out of 50)

Tackling-100: This allows defenders with higher ratings to make those stuffs one on one in the whole. No DT's getting trucked etc. There are missed tackles but it's usually when you aren't hitting the ball-carrier head on, arm tackles, etc.

Total Defense-(275 out of 200)

** In the MCL there are no arbitrary or personally influenced tweaks of any kind to the rules or sliders. **

This league has always prided itself on it’s unique perspective to both sliders which are edited to create more ‘’realistic circumstances’’ for users as well as our view of trades and ‘’roster integrity’’.
